About

"Inner peace and happiness is the key to living a fulfilling life."

My background begins on Long Island, New York, growing up with my mom and dad in suburbia. I lived a happy life in a solid family until my dad unexpectedly passed away during surgery. I attended Boston University for undergraduate work, studying mass communications with a concentration in advertising. Originally, I had thought I would do anything but follow in my parents' footsteps, with my dad as a school counselor and my mom as a teacher. However, I did happen to have a liberal arts concentration in psychology which I eventually used professionally over time. Following my intuition and the sunshine, I moved to California in 2001, and I guess genetics played a part in my enrolling in a Master's program in Educational Counseling through National University. Working with children and families was in my blood. I later built two school counseling programs at two different kindergarten through eighth grade schools. After 19 years as a school counselor, I wanted to work more closely with children and their families on a smaller, more manageable scale, where my work would have more of an impact and suit my personality better. I thrive in building relationships with children and their families and motivate people to find the best version of themselves. I am currently a coach for children and their families. Passionately dedicated to the field of supporting children and their families, I am an authentic person, a believer and practitioner of self-care - including yoga, hiking, traveling, running, time alone to rejuvenate, and an advocate for each of my clients to find their own means to holistically care for him/herself. My dad kept a quote by e.e. cummings in his wallet that rings true to me and my work with children that said, "to be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else - means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting." - Janine Gale RISE Coaching Services Kids' Life Coach
